Judging will be held at National Geographic the weekend of February 24-26, 2012. There will be presentations by some of the judges at the general membership meeting on Friday night, Feb. 24, 2012. Judging is open to the public, so please spread the word (Still photography, VIDEO, and New Media rules have been posted. Download the PDFs, organize your entries, and pay online.

DINNER INFO

The dinner committee is making plans for the Eyes of History gala on May 5, 2012, to be held again at the fabulous Ritz Carlton in downtown Washington. There has been a bit of confusion on the date of the dinner and the committee wants you to know that May 5 is indeed the day!

WHNPA anNOUNCES $10,000 AWARD TO ALLISON SHELLEY


Allison Shelley, freelance photographer, has been chosen as the recipient of the White House News Photographers Project Grant. The grant of $10,000, half from the WHNPA and a matching amount of $5,000 from PNY Technologies Inc., will fund her project to examine and raise awareness on the health implications of adolescent childbearing in rural India. Visit the member gallery to learn more about this project and the WHNPA grants.
