General Members Meeting

E Board Present: President-Susan Walsh, Secretary-Bob Pearson, Cliff Owen, Don Watrud, Susan Biddle, Pege Gilgannon, Doug Wilkes, Dennis Brack

7:00 PM-Meeting called to order by President Susan Walsh. Quorum in attendance. Susan Walsh announced that the Oval Office photo of the WHNPA Eyes of History 2002 winners and the President had been taken; unfortunately we did not get the associated letter from the President in time for inclusion in the book.

Election of New Officers:
Nomination Committee results were presented.
Nominees were:
President-Susan Walsh
Vice-President-Doug Wilkes
Treasurer-Jeff Lawrence
Secretary-Bob Pearson
E-Board Seats: Cliff Owen (two-year), Pege Gilgannon (three-year) and Susan Biddle (one-year).

The room was polled for further nominees. None were presented and the Nominations were closed. As none of the nominees were contested, the election is foregone and the ballot process is not necessary. Election of nominees will become official at the April General Membership meeting. As Doug Wilkes has been elected to Vice-President, President Susan Walsh has appointed (with his approval) Member Mike Horan to fill the Two-year E-Board position. Mike Horan will have one year left on his appointed position. This position is pending approval by the E-Board. This matter will be addressed at the April E-Board meeting.

Treasurer's Budget Report: Jeff Lawrence was not in attendance so the financial report was not presented. A copy of the current financial report is available from the Secretary.

WHNPA Newsletter: Newsletter Editor Dennis Brack, in addition to asking for more photos and stories from members, asked for suggestions for advertisers for the newsletter. Please contact Dennis or Susan Walsh if you have any prospects.

Speaker: Tom Reiger of Reiger Image Labs in Gaithersburg presented some of his companies work and particularly color prints from the Fuji Frontier digital printer (which were of excellent quality). The Fuji Frontier Printer (which works in conjunction with a Crossfield scanner for film, and handles digital images as well) is the workhorse for Reiger's company. Mr. Reiger explained his company's methods for maintaining color management and quality.

Video: Doug Wilkes of the Video Competition Committee adjourned his committee to a separate meeting to discuss future video rules in light of the onset of multimedia video. Any video contest changes from that meeting will be presented in the April General Membership meeting minutes.

Misc: Secretary Bob Pearson and Business Manager Larry Levin agreed that the General Membership Meeting Minutes will be made available on the WHNPA website beginning with the March, 2002, GM Meeting. Financial information will be generally included, but also available on per-request basis (from the Secretary) when financial information is not presented at the General Membership Meetings.
