Judging for the Eyes of History 2009 VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO EDITING CONTESTS will take place on Saturday February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at National Geographic Channel studios.
The public is welcome to observe the contest.

2009 VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO EDITING CONTEST JUDGES
Kristen Bergeron

Kristen Bergeron is currently a news photojournalist for CBS 11 KTVT in Dallas/Fort Worth. She’s been in the news business for almost 20 years and found her calling as a photojournalist about 19 years ago.
She loves being a photographer and has seen a lot – the good, the bad, the ugly, the strange…well, you get the picture. She’s covered everything from wildfires, tornadoes, earthquakes… from spelling bees…. to the Grammy awards. Her travels have taken her to Central America to bring hope to Honduras after Hurricane Mitch and to England to do some investigative pieces.
Kristen has received numerous local, regional and national awards for her work. But the biggest reward for her is bringing other people’s stories to you.
STEVE FLOOD
Steve Flood has been shooting news since 1982 in a variety of fields, from daily assignments to longer format documentaries and shows. After beginning his career in Louisville, KY he moved on to WXIA-TV in Atlanta, GA, where he has been Chief Photojournalist for almost 15 years. During that time, he has been a regional NPPA Photographer of the Year three times, has nine regional emmy awards to hang hats on, and his staff has been a finalist for NPPA Station of the Year 3 times as well. He is a frequent speaker or judge at industry events, and served as past television representative on the NPPA board of directors.
Sarah Montgomery

Sarah Montgomery is an Emmy-nominated editor who has been working in television news for 8 years. She started in the Graphics Department at WKYC, the local NBC affiliate in Cleveland, and worked her way up to editing Special Projects. In the past year she began shooting and editing her own stories. During baseball season she works with the regional sports network SportsTime Ohio, editing the Cleveland Indians pregame shows. In her spare time, Sarah volunteers with local homeless shelters and does community outreach with her church.
Stephanie Ottjepka

Stephanie Ottjepka is the chief editor at WTVT, the Fox O & O in Tampa. Stephanie has been working in broadcasting for 18 years, starting at an independent station in Sarasota and working her way to Chief Editor at WTVT 11 years ago. She has won numerous awards for her work over the years. She was 2005 NPPA Runner-up Editor of the Year for her work in 2004.
KEVIN RIDLEY

Kevin Ridley is an award winning photojournalist for WCNC –TV in Charlotte NC. Kevin has more than 10 years experience working in television news.
Kevin began his career at KOLN-KGIN TV in Lincoln, NE where he worked part-time while attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After a brief stint in Lincoln, Kevin moved to Omaha, NE as a general assignment photographer for WOWT-TV in Omaha, NE. After 7 years at WOWT-TV, Kevin moved Charlotte, NC where he’s been a photojournalist for the last two years. Over the years Kevin has won numerous AP and NPPA awards.
