JUDGES' BIOGRAPHIES

Ali Ghanbari has been a staff photojournalist for WJW Fox O& O Cleveland, since 1994. Prior to that he worked at WKEF NBC Dayton, OH for 12 years. He has been recognized with over 400 awards from professional journalism organizations such as the AP, Emmy, NPPA, ONPA, SPJ, PRESS CLUB, and RTNDA. Photographer of the year title - nppa R4 97, onpa 93, 95, 96, 97, 98, and 2003- OhioAP 94,2000,01. Ohio SPJ 98, 2000 and 03.

Merry Murray is a photojournalist for KSNW in Wichita KS, and has worked for stations in Lexington, KY, Grand Rapids, MI, and Nashville, TN, during her career as an award-winning photographer. She is currently the NPPA Best of Photojournalism contest chair. Merry is married and has one "son," her West Highland Terrier, Buster.
