SHUNYI BATTLE
Australian Robin Bell battles the Shunyi Olympic slalom course during the first day of competition at the Summer Olympics. Kayaking became an Olympic sport in 1972 but was not contested in the 1976 and 1982 games. It returned in 1986 and has remained an Olympic sport.
