Keely's Boxing and Youth Center operates out of the basement of a church in the often troubled area of Columbia Heights in Washington, DC. Keely Thompson opened the gym in hopes to get young adults off the street and promote well-being. Thompson's goals aims at decreasing gang membership and violence in the neighborhood. Would-be boxers train in the gym daily after school and find a passion in the sport, as well as encouragement and motivation from Thompson, their coach.
