The shootings on the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University campus were comprised of two separate attacks about two hours apart on April 16, 2007 in Blacksburg, Virginia. The gunman, Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people in the deadliest school shooting in United States history. In the hours and days following the shooting, memorials began appearing in several locations on the campus and services were held to honor the dead.
