The confirmation hearings of Supreme Court of the United States nominee
Samuel Alito before the Senate Judiciary Committee in January 2006 in Washington,
D.C. Though some Democrats voted against his nomination, the committee
as a whole voted in his favor, as did the entire United States Senate.
Alito then joined Chief Justice John Roberts as a new conservative force
on the Supreme Court.
