Contest judging takes place March 19, 2011

JUDGES' BIOS
Hello, WHNPA Student POY photographers, judges, leaders and committee!
We are very excited to have so many of you involved in this year's contest and to see the student images judged tomorrow.
Your judges are three of the most talented, award winning members in the WHNPA organization and we are so proud they have agreed to volunteer their Saturday for this event. Our 2011 judges are freelance political and news photojournalist Chris Usher, Washington Post staff photographer Sarah L. Voisin and NPR multimedia producer and editor John W. Poole.
The judging will take place Saturday, March 19, at the United Press International (UPI) offices at 1133 19th Street NW Suite 800. We will start the judging at 9:00 sharp. Free coffee, donuts and bagels will start at 8:30 a.m. and the judges will start the official process at 9:00. You are more than welcome to come in at any time to see the judging and we encourage you to stay for the whole process! We go until we are finished, usually it ends around 11:00-12:00.
You are all invited to attend the judging and see the process as it unfolds. The announcement of the winners will be available via our Facebook page, WHNPA Twitter feed and press release by Saturday afternoon. If you are a winner or a finalist, we will call you directly after the judging and let you know so have your phone handy.
We look forward to sharing in this exciting event with you and hope to see you and your fellow students at the judging!
Warmest regards,
Jamie Rose & Kevin Deitsch
